First Assembly was first conceived in prayer and then birthed at 711
Rogers Street in Albemarle. God then began to lead the spiritually
hungry to the church, while the fellowship eventually grew too large
for the small white building. |

This required the congregation to relocate to the historic Center
Theater on West Main in downtown Albemarle. The congregation quickly
grew again to over 200 in three years, requiring a stretch of faith
again in 1986 with a new building on the already purchased 30 acres
on the 24/27 by-pass. Its seems the congregation was cast in a destiny
of growth and expansion. We believe that destiny is once again manifest
in the vision God has given for this great moment! |

Again God moved mightily within our church and as a result our congregation grew even more. On July 24, 2005 we had a ground breaking ceremony with Dr. Charles Cookman for the construction of our new sanctuary. 11 months later on Sunday, June 11, 2006 we were all together for one service to praise and worship our Lord. What a mighty God we serve!!

We can't wait to see what God has planned next for us. As we continue our journey with Him, we want to take this time to invite you to....
Come and grow with us and be a part of something much greater
than all of us! |
