Janis Burris Receives The 2008-2009

Police Support Person Of The Year Award

Janis Burris recently received the Police Support Person Of The Year Award For 2008-2009 from the Matthews Police Department. Her official title is Records Manager but Janis, otherwise known as Mama J to all the officers, has touched everyone who has walked through the department. Under her leadership the Records Department has a 19 year record of being 100% efficient as rated by the N. C. Division of Criminal Information. "Janis has been such an integral part of the day -to-day life of the department. She exudes, in every sense, the true meaning of "customer service". I feel truly blessed to have had Janis standing behind me and standing beside me as our department has grown and flourished, and she so richly deserves the enjoyment of her retirement with her family," Matthews Police Chief Rob Hunter commented recently. Congratulations Janis! We are so very proud of you.
