Genesis may be the Bible’s most controversial, misunderstood, and abused book, but it sets the stage for everything else in Scripture. It’s not a history textbook or a science manual—it’s much more. It’s the first chapter in a cosmic story. It shows us where we come from, why we long for meaning, and what it looks like when God chooses to walk with humanity— flaws, failures, and all.
Whether you’re new to church or grew up quoting Bible verses in Sunday School, Genesis still offers fresh wonders. Yes, this ancient story still illuminates the God who is still creating and saving today.
